ABOUT THE SHOOT:
Growing up, I assumed Likay theatre was nothing more than a flickering memory on a late-night TV screen—a faded Thai art form. Then I discovered the Pote Likay Troupe breathing new life into the craft. This new generation of performers has evolved the presentation while honoring the iconic, elaborate costumes we all recognize. They don't memorize lines—they improvise them with the energy of freestyle rappers.
      This project with Crumpler captures a transformation: young teenagers stepping from the modern world into the timeless identity of a Likay performer.
