4th October 2024.

1. Who is eligible to participate in the competition?

The competition is open to all students currently enrolled at Lasalle College of the Arts.

2. How do I submit my design?

Designs should be submitted in a digital format (PDF or JPEG) to hellosg@crumpler.com. If you're creating a physical prototype, submit high-quality photos of your prototype.

3. What is the deadline for submission?

All entries must be submitted by 23 Sept 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted.

4. Are there any submission specifications or requirements?

Design Description: A brief description (200-300 words) explaining your design, the inspiration behind it, and how it aligns with Crumpler’s brand.

Design Research / Sketches: Include your research and also sketches from different angles (front, back, side, and
interior).

Materials List: Specify any materials you envision using in your design.

5. Can I submit more than one design?

We encourage participants to design as many options as possible, however you are only to submit one design. Please choose the design that you think is best!

6. How will the designs be judged?

Designs will be evaluated based on creativity, functionality, and adherence to the theme. A panel of judges from Crumpler and Lasalle College of the Arts will review the entries.

7. What are the prizes for the winners?

Get the chance to have your design sampled and produced as a limited edition!

It'll be placed in our store and online on our websites with a percentage of sales going to the winner. In the case of a production, we'll also be promoting the item on our social channels, website, as well as in-store display.

8. When and where will the winners be announced?

Winners will be announced via our social and online portal on 27 September 2024.

9. Can I collaborate with other students on a design?

Yes, collaborations are welcome. However, any prizes won will be shared among the team members.

10. Who do I contact if I have additional questions?

11. Can I use any software for my design?

Yes, participants can use any design software they are comfortable with. Just ensure the final submission meets the required format and specifications.

12. Will my design be returned to me after the competition?

Digital submissions will not be returned. Physical prototypes, if required, can be collected after the competition ends.

13. Will there be feedback provided on my design?

You may obtain the feedback from LASALLE judge panels after the competition.

14. How should I present my design concept?

Your submission should include detailed drawings, a written description of the concept, and any relevant specifications. A template will be provided to guide you.

15. Will the designs be showcased publicly?

Yes, all submitted designs will be showcased in an online gallery

16. What happens if my design is selected for production?

If your design is selected, you will work with Crumpler's production team to finalize the design for manufacturing. You will also receive a share of the sales revenue from your design.

17. Are there any costs associated with entering the competition?

There is no entry fee for the competition. Participation is free for all eligible students.

18. Will I retain the rights to my design?

Participants will retain the intellectual property rights to their designs. However, by entering the competition, you grant Crumpler the right to use your design for promotional purposes.

19. Can I include a prototype with my design submission?

While a physical prototype is not required, you may include one if you believe it will help illustrate your design. Be sure to follow the guidelines for prototype submission.

20. What should I do if I encounter technical difficulties during submission?

If you experience any technical issues, please contact the competition support team at hellosg@crumpler.com for assistance.

21. What if I have a unique material in mind for my design?

If you have a unique material in mind, please include details about its sourcing and feasibility in your submission. Crumpler will review and approve materials on a case-by-case basis.

22. Is there a social media hashtag for the competition?

Yes, participants are encouraged to use the hashtag #CrumplerXLasalle when sharing their progress and designs on social media. This will help promote the competition and your work.
